Jesus and Justice - by Jake Graham and Gloria Nkosi

October 6, 2026

Sermon summary:

Justice is at the heart of God’s character and mission. Throughout Scripture, righteousness and justice are closely connected, calling God’s people not only to believe what is right but to put it into practice.

God chose Abraham’s family to bless others, and the prophets challenged people who appeared righteous while neglecting the vulnerable. Jesus fulfilled this calling by teaching us to hunger and thirst for righteousness and to seek God’s kingdom first. He also lived it out by drawing near to the overlooked, poor, fatherless, and vulnerable, restoring their dignity.

True righteousness means looking out for the needs of those around us.

Because Jesus reconciled us to God through the cross, we are called to pursue reconciliation with God, one another, and the world around us.
