BUILDTogether, Part 2 - by Mfundo Nondala

March 10, 2024

Sermon recap:

You don't build something that's already there, unless it has collapsed.

1. Wake up your faith. Discouragement sets in when we focus on what we see and hear around us. Are you comfortable or involved? Are you connected to God? What do we need to rebuild as a congregation?

2. Lead, don't supervise. There is a time to lead from the front and get your hands dirty. Take it seriously.

3. Stand up to opposition. Opposition brings accountability and commitment, or destruction that hurts, humiliates and causes fighting. Ask why?

If you missed Part 3 of BuildTogether by Ivor Botha, you can watch on our YouTube channel. The lesson starts at 34 mins. In Haggai 1: 1-4 God challenged the nation about their priorities. He wanted them to rebuild the temple. They agreed but said, "Not now." Verse 13-14 God promised, "I am with you," when they got distracted by the opposition. What is God saying to us today Wha is stopping us from building his kingdom? We need to seek God, taste how good he is, and trust that he is working behind the scenes.

Psalm 23 paints God as our shepherd—guiding, providing, and protecting. In Jesus, the Good Shepherd, we find the same care. Choose godly community over isolation, grow through mentorship, and live to reflect his love in a world that needs it daily, faithfully.

Jesus, the Bread of Life, meets our deepest needs. We chase power, comfort, and distractions, yet still feel empty. True satisfaction is found in him alone. Feed your soul daily with God’s Word before anything else, and let him be your centre.

Living like Jesus means denying self, sharing the gospel in every season, trusting God in hardship, and reaching the lost with grace, courage, and faith.
